Jessop Primary school held an art exhibition on Friday 25th May 2012. The term’s topic was art in nature and each class displayed a selection of work in the hall. There was so much to see, read and enjoy. The standard of work was exceptional and parents were very impressed with the work on display.
‘The work is absolutely stunning and the hall looks amazing.’ Reception parent.
The work looks wonderful’ Year 5 parent.
‘My child was so proud to complete the work and have it displayed in the exhibition’. Year 1 parent.
Nursery children displayed their work on the jungle. They looked at different animals that live in the jungle and painted pictures and created junk model animals. Reception children looked at creating different kinds of sculpture looking at the environment around them. The Year 1 displayed a wonderful selection of work which linked science and art. Year 2 made flower sculptures using salt dough and the finished work was colourful and eye catching. Year 3 created a playground and added clay models of different animals they would like to see. We are not sure the dragon would be such a good idea in the playground! Year 4 created a wonderful selection of pictures using natural materials. Year 5 shared their work on making beautiful flowers by folding paper. Year 6 created wonderful pictures of their environment and also completed a wonderful science experiment on growing cress.
The exhibition of work will now be displayed around the school so that we can further enjoy the excellent work. Miss Jackson also took a range of work from Jessop Primary school to the Garden Museum schools exhibition which ran from Friday 22nd June until Friday 6th June 2012.
