Party on the School Street
On Thursday 11th July, Jessop Primary closed the street to cars and encouraged children parents and carers to join in with their celebration for their Safer School Streets Party. They were welcomed by the sultry sounds of the Steel Pans and children were invited to decorate the streets with chalks. Lots of children joined in the fun by drawing images of the street party, and had the freedom to ride their bikes and scooters in the street. The fun did not end there as Councillor Pauline George accompanied the steel band by playing the maracas to some of her favourite tunes.
A big thank you to everyone that came to support this event, this has been an amazing way to complete our pilot for the Safer School Street Initiative.
